CEO and Chairman of the Board
Chris is Board Certified in Oil, Gas & Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His oil and gas experience included energy contract litigation, A&D, title, regulatory and corporate counsel. In early 2016, Chris became President of Bankers Oil Corporation, a privately-held oil and gas company with producing leasehold interests in Texas, Kansas and Colorado, where he oversees the administrative, accounting, tax and legal aspects of the company. Chris received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2005 and his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002. From 2006-2011, Chris served in several in-house roles at Apache Corporation and Hess Corporation, with responsibilities in division orders, lease analysis, title curative, owner relations and prospect analysis. Chris is the owner of the Knop Law Firm, PLLC. He is a member of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources and the Corporate Counsel Sections of the State Bar of Texas, and the Real Estate Section of the North Dakota Bar.
Dr. Gordon Smith
Advisor, Carbon Life Cycle
Dr. Smith is a Director at Ecofor, LLC, who’s renewable energy work forces on designing and scaling up distribution of affordable and reliable clean energy systems for households and small businesses. His extensive experience implementing a wide range of emission mitigation, forestry, and construction projects gives him and extremely practical approach to project finance. Dr. Smith has experience working around the world to build new markets. He has extensive expertise across the entire spectrum of mitigation, including modeling likely emission benefits of project and programmatic activities, policy analysis for governments, standard and methodology development for offset registries, project development, project and methodology validation and certification, and verifier accreditation. He is an expert in biomass carbon sampling efficiency and designing sampling systems to meet precision goals. Other topics of expertise include leakage quantification and baseline determination. Dr. Smith brings multiple decades of carbon experience and numerous methodology approvals from the American Carbon Registry to the company.
Advisor, Pit Construction
Mark is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law and Residential Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His experience is in various areas of civil law, including business. Mark received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1988 and his bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin in 1985. Mark was with Hoover Slovacek for over 15 years and is a member of the Houston Bar Association, the Harris County Bar Association and the Community Association Institute.
Jim is an engineer and a 3rd generation timber farmer.
Jon is the President of the Houston Geological Society, a professional society for petroleum, energy and environmental geoscientists. Jon is also the owner and Chief Geologist of Teyra GeoConsulting, LLC, and a former Geological Advisor at Statoil, Unocal.
Dr. James (“Jim”) Gooding
Dr. Gooding is the Founder and Managing Director of Geoclime, LLC. With over 37 years of professional employment, he completed successive careers as a research scientist, energy market analyst, director of commercial energy services and management consultant. Jim earned a Ph.D. with Distinction from the University of New Mexico, a M.S. from the University of Hawai’i and a B.S. with Honors from California Polytechnic State University. He is a Professional Geoscientist licensed in Texas and recognized to practice in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Matt holds his BA in Economics from Rice University.
